From clinical observation to molecular mechanisms — connecting internal medicine, biochemistry, and cellular signaling.

FROM CLINICAL QUESTIONS TO MOLECULAR MECHANISMS.

Research Interests

Prof. Adnan Erol’s research examines the molecular mechanisms underlying disorders of energy metabolism and their links to chronic disease, cancer, inflammation, and cellular adaptation.

His work integrates clinical internal medicine with molecular biology, biochemistry, and immunoregulation.

Research into how disturbances in cellular energy metabolism contribute to insulin resistance, metabolic disease, neurodegeneration, and malignant transformation.

FROM OBSERVATION TO MECHANISM.

Research Approach

His work begins with clinical questions and develops them through mechanistic interpretation across molecular biology, biochemistry, and immunoregulation.

1. Clinical Observation

Identify recurring patterns and unresolved questions emerging from human disease and clinical medicine.

2. Mechanistic Hypothesis

Translate clinical observations into hypotheses involving metabolism, signaling, inflammation, and cellular stress.

3. Molecular Integration

Connect evidence across biochemistry, molecular biology, immunoregulation, and disease-specific literature.

4.Translational Perspective

Evaluate how mechanistic insights may improve disease understanding and support future clinical applications.
