Since the beginning of my clinical practice in Internal Medicine in 1982, I have cultivated a profound interest in the pathophysiology of human disease, which gradually directed my focus toward molecular biology and biochemistry. This intellectual trajectory deepened throughout the 1990s and, by the early 2000s, evolved into a sustained commitment to exploring the molecular mechanisms of energy metabolism disorders and their intricate signal transduction pathways.
